Inspiration: repurposing

Did y'all see these awesome lights on cup of jo today? They are made from wood found on the San Francisco shoreline and are available on Etsy. I love the idea of making new and useful things out of old or salvaged finds like this.

wine bottles everywhere...

when we were at the Atlanta market a few weeks ago we saw so many light fixtures made from wine bottles....a great way to recycle!!! We are making a few of the ones in the top picture thanks to Design For Life blog. Check it out and make a few for your backyard. We will also have some in the shop later in the week.

this was that......

I love the mason jars lights and all the places you can use one to add that little touch to a room. I have one on the porch at the river house and it is the perfect amount of light at night if you are outside. My son has one over the bar area in his kitchen and it is so good looking!! If you are not in the mood to make one e-mail me I have them for sale........

a favorite new find...

Last week mom and I went to Atlanta for a few days to do some shopping for the shop. If you know us at all you know we also picked up a few things for ourselves too...

It seemed that everywhere we turned there was something unusual and exciting to look at, but this mirror was so unusual we had to bring it back. After barely squeezing it into the car ( along with our Ikea purchases, a new table for me, and luggage), it made it's way to Taylor yesterday and is hanging in the booth!

The picture does not do it justice. It is made from the metal from the side of an old Southern Shipping 18 Wheeler- and it one of the most eye-cathing pieces we saw. Metal and industrial elements were everywhere, so if I had to guess this trend is coming on strong! It was made in Atlanta by a local designer, and is a one-of-a-kind.

something old with a new purpose........

What a great way to add a "little funk" to the table......take an old tool box and add a few plants. I love to put rosemary in mine so you have a wonderful smell when you enter the room. You can change it up for every season.

new stuff!

We put some new stuff in today, and moved some stuff around! The lawn chair/ chaise lounge that we posted about earlier in the week is so adorable! we were both wishing we had a screen porch to keep it for ourselves! You can also see the refurbished leather chair-- the pillows come with it! It is the perfect size to stick just about anywhere.

We have a few more big things coming soon, so stay tuned!

Before and after....

one of my favorite things is to rescue a worn out chair!
